70 years ago this month
May 1942 the Battalion is still at Arsal in the Syrian foothills undertaking exercises and manoeuvres. Major Tiwi Love becomes the first Māori commander of the unit. Read the war diary for May 1942 here
NZ grave of Ben Tumataroa

This is the NZ-based grave of Ben Tumataroa. He was killed in Tunisia on May 15, 1943. One day after his brother John. Another of his brothers, Ken, was killed two years earlier in Crete.
