70 years ago this month
May 1942 the Battalion is still at Arsal in the Syrian foothills undertaking exercises and manoeuvres. Major Tiwi Love becomes the first Māori commander of the unit. Read the war diary for May 1942 here
Journey to Sollum - Homage to Eruera Dennis Hamon Jan 2010

In January 2010, Ian and Martina Hamon paid homage to Eruera Dennis Hamon by making the journey to Halfaya Sollum War Cemetery in Egypt. Martina carried the the fresh flowers and ferns from Germany. Their journey is captured on film and can be viewed here:
