LOVE.—In. proud, honoured, and sacred memory of his Paramount Highness, The Makea Consort, Rangi Makea Rio, of Rarotonga. Cook Islands (Lieut.-Colonel E. T. W. Love), of the 28th Maori Battalion; died of wounds, Western Desert, Egypt, July 1, 1942.

"Keep smiling, darling." was your last message. Through the long weary year I did.

They think I care not.

Yet, each day and night with tears in my heart, I whisper to the winds, "Mizpah."

For I know, God will watch over you and me,

When we are apart.

Some day, somewhere, dearest we will meet. I shall still be smiling.
