About Me
I visited Sfax War Cemetery on 13th August, 2010, with my daughter, Lynne.
My father was killed at Tebaga Gap on 26th March, 1943, and is buried at Sfax. There are 177 New Zealanders buried here.
I was asked by Dolores Ho, Army Museum archivist, to put a flax cross and poppy on each grave and take a photo of them. Dolores sent me the crosses she had made and I got the poppies from the Cambridge RSA. The photos will be on the Museum website but I thought it would be a good idea to put the ones of the 28th Battalion on this website.
The cemetery is beautifully kept. Most of the 28th graves are in Plot 10, Row F.
Lynne and I spent a very peaceful 3 hours there.
