I never realised how young Uncle Kepa was when he was killed. He was only 23 years old. My own son is 20 this year. I cant even begin to imagine the heart ache this war caused. What an absolute waste of life. Trying to put the war and all the horrors that went with it into perspective is almost impossible. I dont know how to put in to words how grateful I am and how much respect I have for everyone, military and civilians, who risked it all so we could live in the saftey we have today. Im sad my Nan had to go through losing a brother, as did many others. Im sad we never got to know our Uncle. I hope we never have to go through anything like this ever again. xoxoxox
