Immortilized in print

There is good coverage of Maiki's war service in the book "Together we stand" by James Holland that covers the last year of the war in North Africa. I suggest anyone interested in the 28th should read it as Maiki does them credit - brutal in battle, humanitarian in victory.

this is my uncle

This my uncle Mike Parkinson. My dad's brother. There was a mix up, my dad's papers turned up first so Uncle Mike took them & enrolled under dad's name.  So my dad had to change his name to enroll.  I think my uncle was too young at the time
