70 years ago this month

May 1942 the Battalion is still at Arsal in the Syrian foothills undertaking exercises and manoeuvres. Major Tiwi Love becomes the first Māori commander of the unit. Read the war diary for May 1942 here

My Father

This my is my father Claude also known as Claude Onekawa. He was in the 28th Maori Battalion. My father died in 1991 from a heart attack and was buried in NewStead Hamilton at the return service men's cemetry. Any stories or photos of my father that you may like to share please do.
