Lest we forget.. TeAni Naera Dan Rakete

Our Dad TeAni Naera Dan Rakete Pte 39436, A.Com 28th Maori Battion. We have never held the stories of his time in service out of respect for him, many stories have been related to our elders and we are so priviledged to have glimpsed some of those stories. Dad has 11 children and many mokopuna and greatmoko's. We share the photos, his mementos, his badges and stories with the mokopuna. Dad passed away at his home in Moerewa, Pewhairangi, on the 19th June 1985. He is laid to rest alongside his parents and whanau at Aperahama Urupa, Kaikohe. He is the only member of his siblings who served in the 2nd World War. Also included in memory of our uncles, Hone John Pine Mau 39670 and Hohepa Joe Joseph from Kaikohe. Arohanui ...
