Infantrymen at Cassino

This photograph of two New Zealand soldiers at Cassino, Italy, was probably taken during a mock attack staged behind the lines - even so, it depicts the tough conditions the Māori Battalion and other New Zealand infantry faced in the ruined town. Photographed by George Kaye, 5 April 1944.
