Freyberg and Shelford receive awards

British General Sir Claude Auchinleck congratulates Lieutenant-General Bernard Freyberg on becoming a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) on 11 February 1942. Among the lineup of 46 servicemen waiting to receive their own awards is the Māori Battalion's Charlie Shelford, who was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) for his bravery at Gazala the previous year.
