70 years ago this month

Arthur Midwood, Alice Williams and Bill Williams
Arthur Midwood (90 years old), Mrs Alice Williams (wife of Bill Williams) and Mr Bill Williams (100 years old), photographed in 2009.
Bill is currently the eldest remaining veteran of the 28th Māori Battalion. Arthur Midwood is one of the last of the so-called 'thirty niners' who enlisted in 1939 and fought in the early campaigns in Greece and Crete.
