Wounded Soldiers After The Minqar Qaim Break Out..

Wounded Māori Battalion soldiers were among those stretched to safety after the Notorious Desert Duel and Break Out at Minqar Qaim where the 2NZEF suffered some 600 casuaties heralding the beginning of a disastrous 2 months for the 2NZEF and start of a series of battles in a small area known as the The Battle of Gazala.

This excellent photo gives well deserved credence to the often heroic service our Kiwi and on occasion other nations medical orderlies and stretcher bearers performed vital lifesaving duties, and were well respected by all soldiers who were at the sharper end of the 2NZEF.
