Officers Line Up After Welcome Tripoli Arrival..

Pre arranged photograph shot by Captain Edward (Ted) Hayward of senior Officers and his carrier. The shot proudly depics thankfull arrival at the entrance to Tripoli, Libya after the distant and exhausting 1200 mile haul from El Alamien late October 42. Standing left of carrier is from right to left - Major W. Porter M.C.bar, Lt.Col. C.M. Bennett D.S.O.,M.B.E., Lt. M.Wikiriwhi D.S.O., Sgt. Tom Waerea.

The name of the Maori soldier standing on the far side of the carrier was unfortunately not recorded by Captain Hayward.
