Hey Grand dad. Im one your youngest grand childen Glenn. I will always remember and treasure the stories my mother Anne told me about you. How you changed your name to Walter on a fake birth certificate so that you could go on "a round the world trip, and see the world". I am grateful for the sacrifices you and your fellow soldiers endured for the sake of my freedom and liberty. Thank you Gand Dad. I love you

Our Dad's legacy lives through his mokopunas, who all know about him. He lives on through their aroha and respect for him. We talk often to them about their Granddad especially on Anzac Day which is a respected day in our family. I have obtained a miniature replica of his medals which will remain a precious taonga to my children and generations to come. My honour and respect to all the 28 Maori Battalion.
