2nd NZEF Official war artist Captain Peter McIntyre's original water colour, painted as a gift for his life long friend, Nursing Sister Marguerite (Peggy) King, 2 NZEF Medical Corp. The actual painting supplied by Peggy and Ted Hayward's son Mr. Russell Hayward, is of a busy Italian, Adriatic coastal port with large supply ships and locals in smaller boats to the fore.
I must say that when I sighted and photographed this original and otherwise unknown water colour work by Capt. Peter McIntyre, I was rather complelled by its touching wartime beauty.. A real treasure indeed.
