During March the Māori Battalion was involved in two battles. The first was a defensive one at Medenine (6 March) where the Battalion repulsed the full weight of a Panzer attack.
The Battalion remained on the outskirts of Tripoli for the whole month. A Divisional parade, Brigade sports, rugby and unloading cargo kept them occupied.
