Displaying an iron cross, Egypt

Wearing a pith helmet a Māori Battalion soldier holds an Iron Cross souvenired during the Battle of Crete.  The soldiers are at a garden party held for members of the 2nd NZEF after the evacuation of Greece and Crete.  The photograph was taken in June 1941 in Egypt.
