About Me:

I am Walker Rivers daughter Diana on my birth certificate I am a full blood Maori one of 13 of his children...Starting from the eldest my other siblings are Miriama, Kaio, Kasari Moana, Dinda (both deceased), John (deceased), my self Diane, Mangu, Alexandria named after my uncle who also was the 28th Maori Battalion.....Pappi, Edward, Witana, Paiwainia, (another uncle in the 28th and last his namesake my youngest brother....Whiti te aroha.....

My father died in 1958, I was only ten years old......but my memories of him were very vivid....He was a gentleman, very humble....On pay day, (he worked on the roadworks in Awanui)he always brought home the black ball lollies as a treat for us kids. He worked hard before and after his job with roadworks......Milking the cows and tending to a huge garden....We also had homing pigeons. My mother was the boss in our whanau...I 'm not sure but I think he developed TB just before he died at the young age of 48 years old...
