The Battalion are at Montaquila as counter-attack reserve for 2 Paratroop Brigade, then relief for 24 Battalion atop Colle Belvedere. By months end they had moved up the Rapido valley to Sora. Read the war diary for May 1944 here

name correction

John (aka Tony) Tikao-Barrett's middle name was Piuraki (not Piurako). I have contacted the people at the Cenotaph database with the correction but they haven't updated it yet. His name shows up correctly on the Archives NZ Archway database and I also have his personnel records which have his name as Piuraki (he was named after one of our ancestors).
