70 years ago this month
May 1942 the Battalion is still at Arsal in the Syrian foothills undertaking exercises and manoeuvres. Major Tiwi Love becomes the first Māori commander of the unit. Read the war diary for May 1942 here
Operation order - December 5, 1941

This operation order details the Māori Battalion raiding patrol into the lower Sollum on December 5, 1941.
At the time the Māori Battalion were camped at the Sollum Barracks and conducting a number of raids on Lower Sollum. For more detail on the Battalion's activities see the Dececmber 1941 diary.
