Hi Jonny What a find to see more whanau of George on this website. My husband is a grandchild of George McDonald and we have the exact same photo of him in our home. We have also managed to get photos of his gravesite sent to us too which is fantastic. We have found another photo of him albeit just a small one in the Monty Soutar book Nga Tama Toa. We would love to hear from you. Regards Steph

Whakapapa

Hi there

Like you; we, too, are trying to piece together a whakapapa that we hope didn't die with his grandfather. So unfortunately we don't know too many of George's whanau; but would love to get in contact with him as it looks as if Johnny herewini is whanau!

Best of luck

Regards

Steph

Having been to Sangro River urupa twice I know Matua George is resting in a beautiful place albeit far from home. I wish I had known he was there. Although I did make it a point to say Kia ora to all the New Zealanders resting there both times I went I never connected Matua George as part of our Mc/MacDonald whanau.
