70 years ago this month
May 1942 the Battalion is still at Arsal in the Syrian foothills undertaking exercises and manoeuvres. Major Tiwi Love becomes the first Māori commander of the unit. Read the war diary for May 1942 here
C Company perform Ruaumoko with Sir Apirana Ngata

Sir Apirana Ngata joins C Company party in the classic Ngāti Porou haka 'Ruaumoko' at Waitangi 6 February, 1940.
Company members have been indentified on p61 of Monty Soutar's book, Nga Tama Toa - their names appear as 'Related soldiers' below right.
