I'm a nephew of Toute Puru who served with the 28th Maori Battalion. I have fond memories of my Uncle Toute. When I was a youth I always remember him being around most weekends to visit our family. My youngest brother Tutanekai was named after our Uncle Toute

After logging on to the 28th Maori Battalion website and searching the Battalion roll for my deceased Uncles I found that there was no pictorial or written memorials for my Uncles. Therefore I would like to take the opportunity and make an effort to add to their memories and the fond memories we their whanau have of them.
