About Me:

My name is Langley (Lee) Hale and I am the son of a soldier who was in the 28th Maori Battalion. His name was Richard (Curly) Morris Hale and he worked in Kennedy Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula as a boat builder/fisherman/farmer after the war. He married my Mum, Mariana Stanopolis from Greece in 1948. Although my extended family, (the Hale's) still live in Kennedy Bay, my place of residence is Otane, Central Hawke's Bay and I work at CHB Mental Health. I am sixty years old now, and can clearly remember 'stories from the war'... Stories he was still telling when sixty himself. Found your website today, Thur 6 Aug; A wash of emotion accompanied the many memories of the-old-man that your website has brought back. Thanks!
