While searching the Roll and discovering My Grand Uncle Solomon, strong emotions came over me, i felt so proud, but mostly sad. Sad that he has no acknowledgements from his family on here. There is no picture of him on here, but i will remedy that as we do have a handsome picture of him in his uniform back up north. SOLOMON MAUNSELL, was my nanny Aputehira Shelfords brother, he had another two brothers, Poker and Jack (Haki), and two sisters Rangi Ameria. I am proud to have the same blood lines of some one who fought with the Maori Batallion. If only our fallen soldiers bodies were brought home so they could lie with there whanau and be forever remembered and visited by the many generations of whanau.

Well it has taken two years, but i have finally got my hands on a picture of Uncle Solomon and posted it. Never forgotten Uncle.
